Co-operative Young Film-Makers Festival

Every year the Co-operative encourages young people to get creative and express themselves through the medium of film. The result of this endevour is the Co-operative Young Film-Makers Festival. This year the event will be held on the 8th-9th October 2009 in Bradford.

During the 2-day event at the magnificent National Media Museum in Bradford, over 100 of short films are presented to a large audience from all over the UK. The attendees can also take part in a wide variety of film workshops, events and master classes. On request, advice can be offered to young people on their film-making ventures in friendly feedback sessions.

If you are 19 or under, and passionate about the world around you, make a short film and by taking part in the festival you will be able share your views with a much wider audience.

We would like to see many more entries to this prestigious event coming from Scotland. CETS and the Co-operative Group will be working with Schools to allow them to visit the Film Festival in Bradford if their entry is chosen to be screened.

For more information about this exciting initiative, please visit the Co-operative Young Film Makers website or contact our Development Manager.

Entries for the 2010 festival need to be received by 25th June 2010.

To help with sourcing ideas for stories and content, you will soon be able to view our film reel of Scottish Film entries to the Bradford Festival in 2008 (watch this space!). These were recently shown at the Glasgow Film Theatre as part of the Glasgow Youth Film Festival.
